“Changing the college curriculum is like moving a graveyard – you never know how many friends the dead have until you try to move them.”
Woodrow Wilson when serving as President of Princeton University (1902-1910)
Welcome to the Office of Curriculum Services’ web site. For the record, Woodrow Wilson was a master of understatement.
Like last year, the menu at the left is divided into the categories of: FYI General, Committee, Proposals and Gen Ed Review. Most of the menu items within these categories have the same title and functionality as last year's menu item, with the use of their content being intuitive. Since last academic year, selected menu items have been enhanced by clarifying direction narratives and/or adding resource links. | | Please take some time to review the web site navigation menu (and the NOTES below) and familiarize yourself with the resources available at this site for general information and curriculum proposals.
NOTES:
1. Committee Meetings: The Curriculum Committee will NOT meet in December (see Meetings: Calendar menu item for the '08-'09 meeting schedule).
2. Bulletin Board (web site navigation): Click on Bulletin Board to see such items as: 5-year course/program review lists, 2008-2009 writing credit courses, General Education Courses (fall 2007 implementation), placement cut-score chart, etc.
3. NEW (effective 20081): For proposed new courses seeking General Education status, the 'F/T Faculty Endorsement of New GenEd Course Inclusion' form (see Forms menu item) needs to be fully completed/submitted prior to agenda scheduling of the proposal.
4. Tips on Proposal Preparation: Prior to drafting your curriculum proposal, please review the provided bullet lists for the varies transaction types (see Proposal Checklists menu item).
5. Proposal Resources: For proposal related information from Florida's DOE, see DOE Links (Proposals) menu item.
If needed, please feel free to contact the Office of Curriculum Services (see Contact Us menu item at left) for additional information about web site navigation and/or curriculum proposals to the committee.
Thank you!
