The Associate of Arts degree is conferred upon satisfactory completion of a program of lower-division courses designed to prepare students to advance to upper-division baccalaureate degree courses. This program includes 36 semester hours of general education courses in addition to courses appropriate for the upper-division major selected by the student. The General Education Requirements are within the subject areas of communications, mathematics, social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences.
