Biography Information
:
Dr.
Barbara
J.
Bryan
is
the
provost
of
the
120
acres,
environmentally
friendly
North
Campus,
in
the
county’s
northern
end.
As
the
chief
executive
officer,
serving
12,000
students,
she
has
primary
responsibility
for
comprehensive
campus
operations
including
student
affairs,
academic
affairs,
health
sciences,
business
affairs,
learning
resources,
information
technology,
and
all
campus
facilities.
With
a
$24
million
budget,
Dr.
Bryan
leads
five
deans,
270
full-time
faculty
and
staff,
and
over
150
adjunct
faculty.
Dr.
Bryan
earned
her
B.A.,
M.Ed.,
and
Ed.S
degrees
from
the
University
of
Florida,
and
her
Ph.D.
from
Barry
University.
She
has
26
years
of
experience
in
higher
education,
which
includes
teaching
experience
and
many
years
as
the
associate
vice
president
for
student
affairs,
and
college
registrar.
In
2006,
this
leader
served
simultaneously
as
interim
provost,
interim
dean
of
academic
affairs,
and
interim
dean
of
business
affairs
for
the
North
Campus.
In
2008,
Dr.
Bryan
led
a
college
team
of
faculty
and
administrators
in
the
development
of
three
Bachelors
of
Applied
Science
Degrees
in
Technology
Management,
Information
Technology,
and
Supervision
and
Management.
During
her
career
at
Broward
and
another
state
community
college
she
has
been
directly
involved
in
the
reaffirmation
process
of
the
Southern
Association
of
Colleges
and
Schools.
One
highlight
of
her
career
was
serving
on
the
SACS
substantive
change
readiness
team
in
Asia.
She
provided
leadership
in
the
curriculum
and
student
affairs
areas
at
the
colleges’
now
fully
accredited
campus
in
Singapore.
Among
her
accomplishments,
is
guest
lecturer
for
Barry
University’s
College
of
Education
Graduate
School
for
Qualitative
Analysis
Courses.
Her
most
recent
publication,
“Organizational
Transformation
through
Technological
Change”
is
a
qualitative
study,
regarding
eight
of
Florida’s
Community
Colleges.
Her
civic
involvements
include
Board
of
Trustees
membership
for
Coral
Springs
Chamber
of
Commerce.
Dr.Bryan
is
committed
to
teaching
excellence,
student-centered
learning,
and
superior
services.
She
believes
educators
are
in
the
business
of
positively
changing
lives.
