Edna
Breinig
Chun
is
Vice
President
for
Human
Resources
and
Equity
and
oversees
recruitment,
staffing,
professional
development,
diversity
and
affirmative
action,
employee
and
labor
relations,
compensation,
records
management,
and
benefits
administration.
She
has
two
decades
of
human
resource
experience
in
public
research
universities
in
the
California,
Oregon,
and
Ohio
state
university
systems.
Edna
Chun
holds
the
Doctor
of
Music
and
Master
of
Music
degrees
with
High
Distinction
from
the
Indiana
University
School
of
Music,
the
Master
of
Arts
degree
from
the
Columbia
University
Graduate
School
of
Arts
and
Sciences,
and
the
Bachelor
of
Arts
degree
cum
laude
from
Oberlin
College.
Dr.
Chun
is
co-author
of
a
recent
book
with
Alvin
Evans
entitled
"Are
the
Walls
Really
Down?
Behavioral
and
Organizational
Barriers
to
Faculty
and
Staff
Diversity"
published
as
part
of
the
AEHE
Higher
Education
Series
(Jossey-Bass,
2007).
The
book
discusses
subtle
and
covert
discrimination
in
the
higher
education
workplace
and
provides
a
systematic
institutional
approach
to
diversity
and
inclusion.
It
received
the
prestigious
Frances
G.
Hansen
Publication
Award
by
the
College
and
University
Professional
Association
for
its
contribution
to
the
human
resource
profession
at
the
2007
national
conference
in
Baltimore,
Maryland.
Dr.
Chun
is
co-author
with
Alvin
Evans
of
a
forthcoming
book
entitled
"Bridging
the
Diversity
Divide:
Globalization
and
Reciprocal
Empowerment
in
Higher
Education"
(Jossey-Bass,
2009).
Edna
Chun
is
co-author
of
a
number
of
journal
articles
on
talent
management,
human
resource
strategies,
and
diversity
published
in
leading
journals.
She
is
a
frequent
presenter
at
national
and
regional
conferences
such
as
the
American
Council
on
Education,
the
American
Association
of
Affirmative
Action,
and
the
College
and
University
Personnel
Association.
