Funding Issues: State Capital Outlay Funds support the Community Colleges’ ability to construct, remodel, renovate and maintain its educational facilities. It is estimated that these funds will be reduced in the next five years at an average of 50% per year as compared to what was appropriated to the Community Colleges in the current year. An Advisory Council on Educational Facilities has been appointed in order to provide solutions to the shortfall in Capital Outlay appropriations.
Preventative Maintenance Program:
The College is in the process of implementing a preventative maintenance/work order system. The first phase is complete, the FMStudio system is generating work orders for preventative maintenance covering the majority of equipment and facilities. Facilities Management along with the Physical Plant staff from the campuses are reviewing the balance of the P.M. that still needs to be scheduled and implementation will take place within the next few months. Facilities Management and Information Technology are developing a system to synchronize user information from the College user directory with FMStudio. When this is complete, FMStudio will be have all the users defined and the "on-demand" portion of the work order system will be available.
