Summer Pell Grant

Please make sure to have your summer schedule finalized by 06/10/2019. Any changes in your schedule after that date will not be included in your federal financial aid award. However, this does not apply to new Broward College students who apply for Summer Term 3 only. New students who have never received a Pell Grant for 2018-19 will receive their eligible award amount.

If you are a continuing student and you received a Pell Grant for both the Fall and Spring terms, you will be able to view your Summer Pell Grant award on myBC starting 04/11/2019. Students who were enrolled for both Fall and Spring must be enrolled in at least six credits for the Summer to receive your Pell Grant award. If you plan to enroll in less than six credits, you may still have Pell grant eligibility remaining for a limited amount. If you received a Pell Grant at another institution prior to enrolling as a new student at Broward College in the Spring, you may still be required to enroll in at least 6 credits to be eligible for your Summer Pell Grant award. All students receiving financial aid should check their myBC frequently to review your award amounts. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Financial Aid Office for assistance.

2019-2020 Financial Aid forms are now available

Please review your myBC to see if you have any documents that need to be completed for financial aid processing.  All forms are available online and most can be completed electronically.  Please be advised the Professional Judgement forms will not be available for the 2019-2020 academic year until after September 2019.

This calendar provides important dates about the types of funds/aid we disburse during the month of May.  Please see the breakdown below for the different fund types.

State Aid: Bright Futures, Florida Student Assistance Grant, First Generation Matching Grant

Institutional Aid: BCC Merit Scholarship, Opportunity Grant, Broward College, Grant, Financial Aid Award, Achieving Success Grant

Outside Scholarship Checks

If you receive a scholarship that is not awarded by Broward College, please take your scholarship check to the Cashier's Office on the North, South or Central campus. This applies to ALL checks, including those you may receive as result of a scholarship award posted to your account. Do not send any checks to the Financial Aid Office, as the Financial Aid Office does not process checks. Doing so will cause a delay in posting your scholarship award. You must be currently enrolled at Broward College or the Cashier's Office will not accept the check. Please refer to  the 'How to Pay' tab on the Cashier's webpage for more information on this process.

Refunds and Disbursements - Learn the Difference

Refunds are processed on different dates than the disbursement dates listed below. If you are eligible for a refund, please allow for 7-10 business days after your disbursement date to receive it. Please refer to the Student Refunds tab on the Cashier's webpage for more information regarding your refund.

** There will be no disbursements from May 6 - May 10.**
