A Valuable Partnership
The College Academy is a unique and valuable partnership between the school board and BCC which allows gifted Broward County high school students the opportunity to graduate with not only a high school diploma, but also an Associate's degree from BCC. One of the benefits for students enrolled in the College Academy is that their college tuition is paid for as well as their textbooks. College Academy students split their time taking BCC college courses and courses taught by Collage Academy faculty. Any student meeting the standing criteria for dual enrollment may be eligible to particpate in this program. More details may be found at the College Academy website.
Honors Benefits
The Honors Institute has collaborated with the College Academy to offer an additional outstanding benefit to qualified College Academy students, the opportunity to join the Honors Institute and gain the recognition, fellowship, and academic advantages of the Honors program. As Honors Institute members, College Academy students take three Honors courses with College Academy Honors faculty and three with BCC Honors faculty. These students may earn the Honors Certificate by completing 6 courses (including IDH 2121) in this fashion.
We appreciate our partnership and the efforts of the the following College Academy faculty and staff members who make this collaboration possible. Please visit the Honors Directory to see their profiles.
