Scholar Award:

The Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors Institute offers 100 Scholar Award scholarships to qualified new BC students each year to cover $1450 ($725 for fall Term and $725 for Winter Terms) up to 60 credits. For consideration it is important to have your application submitted by April 1st if you plan to attend BC in the fall term. This program usually accepts new students only for the fall term, however, students who are planning to begin studies at BC in the winter may contact The Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors Institute to see if a special arrangement or scholarship deferment is possible.

Students who are granted a Scholar Award must enroll in The Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors Institute and meet the Scholar Award program requirements. Please see the Scholar Award policies here.

High School Students:

Students who meet any of the following criteria should speak with their high school B.R.A.C.E. advisor about applying.

- unweighted GPA of at least 3.3 or
- high SAT/ACT scores or
- have taken AP/Honors courses

Home Schooled Students:
(limited and subject to funding availability)

Students with high SAT scores (1000 or higher) who can document the completion of high school through a home school program should contact Dr. Irmgard Bocchino (954-201-7646), at The Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors Institute.

GED Students:
(limited and subject to funding availability)

Students with a GED score of 3500 or higher should contact Dr. Irmgard Bocchino (954-201-7646), at The Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors Institute.

Term Scholarships

For Honors students not receiving the Scholar Award, The Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors Institute offers term scholarships to fulltime students through the BC Foundation. Money is available for both fulltime and part-time students. As the title suggests, these scholarships are awarded on a term basis. Students must apply for this scholarship every term that they meet the eligibility criteria listed below. The amount varies each term and is based on merit, not need. The Term Scholarship Form and application deadline are available online at the forms page. The eligibility criteria for both scholarships is below:

 
Fulltime Term Scholarship
Part-time Term Scholarships

- Applicant must be enrolled in at least 12 credits during the term of the award
- Applicant must be enrolled in at least one Honors course (3 credits)
- This scholarship covers $400.00

These scholarships are funded by the generous contributions of BC Foundation donors, which include the following endowments: Burkhardt, Barbara Evertz, Rasmuson, F. Louis and May Jean Wolff, and Honors Institute

- Applicant must be enrolled in at least 6 credits, but not more than 11 credits during the term of the award
- Applicant must be enrolled in at least one Honors course (3 credits)
-This scholarship covers $250.00

These scholarships are funded by the generous contribution of Mr. Robert L. Elmore, who established the Robert Elmore Honors Institute Scholarship Endowment in 2005


Term Scholarship Conditions:

  1. Applicants must be current members of the BC Honors Institute
  2. Applicants with at least a 3.5 GPA will be given preference
  3. Applicants on financial aid may be ineligible if they have already met the maximum amount of assistance permitted for the calendar year. (This circumstance is very unusual; please check with the BC Financial Aid office if you are already receiving numerous grants and/or scholarships)
  4. Scholar Award Recipients and Dual Enrolled students are not eligible.

Distribution and Amount:

The individual scholarship amount varies each term and will be determined by the following: the total dollar amount of the available interest from the Foundation Honors Scholarship accounts divided by the number of qualified applicants. Applicants will notified via email within 2 weeks after the scholarship application deadline as to whether or not they were awarded the term scholarship.
