Star Students: Includes BCC Dean's Award winners, national scholarship winners, and exceptional students from the other categories.

Brain Bowl Team: This category lists those students who competed on a team in either a Brain Bowl or NAQT competition. Brain Bowl is a national collegiate competition which tests knowledge in the areas of humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences. NAQT is similar, but with a focus on Pop Culture.

Math Team: This category lists those students who participated in the Math Olympics, an annual Florida state math competition.

Dept. Award Winners: Lists those students nominated by the various academic departments from BCC's Central, North, and South campuses. These students were chosen based on their outstanding work in their respective academic disciplines.

Scholarship Winners: Lists those students who have earned transfer scholarships to any of the major local universities (within South Florida).

Special Recognition: This category lists students who have made special contributions to the Honors Institute.
