Kindred Hospital South Florida

The following information is intended to provide a brief summary of some of the salient points of our program. To start with, we want you to know that first and foremost our interest is to assist qualified and interested students to complete a program of study that leads to a degree in one of the approved science health programs, in order that you may work in our hospital to deliver the highest quality of patient care.

Our values are compassion, competency, commitment, teamwork and customer service. These represent themselves as attitude and behaviors that promote a positive approach toward work and a sincere interest in serving the medically complex adult and elderly patients we serve.

We are a long- term acute care hospital serving medically complex adult and elderly patients. We do not operate an emergency department, care for children or psychiatric patients.

We specialize in the care of patients with respiratory diseases, ventilator dependency, wound care and a myriad of complex medical diseases ranging from stroke to renal failure. We also serve a large population of patients who may benefit from low tolerance rehabilitation.

In return for support toward your expenses related to earning your degree, we will require you to work for our facility for 24 months after you are released from orientation. The requirements for the program are:

  • A current resume
  • Two letters of recommendation. One from a previous employer and one from a faculty member
  • A series of two personal interviews with Kindred Hospital Representatives
  • A letter of interest, including a statement of commitment to the rules of the program
  • An acknowledgment of our core values in the form of a signed document titled Standards of Excellence and Accountability
  • Successful completion of 9 college credits including 6 credits in the required science courses with a GPA of 2.5.
  • Submission of an unofficial transcript
  • A signed student agreement, committing to all aspects of the program and acceptance of legal responsibility for fulfilling your obligations under the agreement.

The hospital reserves the right to make a final determination of successful candidacy, with or without regard to any requirements noted herein. The standards may be elevated or lowered, and a constellation of factors will determine final selection.

Please submit your letter of interest as soon as possible and follow with "all other documents in a complete packet." Submit all documents to Karina Selva, HR Coordinator, Kindred Hospital South Florida, 1859 Van Buren Street, Hollywood, Florida 33020, 954-926-3873. For employment questions, please e-mail karina.selva@kindredhealthcare.com.
