| STUDY ABROAD IN INDIA | | Leave your classroom at Broward College behind and enjoy a completely out of ordinary study abroad learning experience. | The Broward College Study Abroad in India program is designed to give students studying in US institutions an “India Experience”. This semester or summer program is conducted through an agreement with the College Consortium for International Studies and the International Center for Management and India Studies (ICMIS) just a few kilometers north of Bangalore, India. Study in India. | Arguably one of the fastest growing and most debated countries in the world, India offers a wealth of learning and experience in its rich and diverse cultural heritage, its varied geographic landscape, its vibrant economy and its entrepreneurial success stories. | | | In today’s competitive world, multi-cultural education and experience provides significant advantage while opening up new avenues and opportunities. With India being one of the fastest growing and most studied economies of the world, an India experience can open up a world of possibilities. | | | | ICMIS Study Abroad Programs | The program includes a blend of academic course work across a broad spectrum of disciplines and sight-seeing, and is customized to participant requirements. Courses are available for a full semester of studies from August to December and from January to May or for four or eight week summer terms in July and August. | Costs vary depending on the length of the program, but ICMIS is a very real bargain in the field of study abroad. Cost for a semester program is approximately $7250, in 2009, not including airfare. Summer program fees for 2009 are in the range of $3,100 to $4200, not including airfare, depending on the length (4 or 8 weeks) of the program. Program costs include tuition, fees, internet access, 2 local study tours, resident permit, local transportation, insurance, room, and refundable damage deposit.

| | Course offerings | Program offerings are more extensive in the fall and spring terms. Semester courses include Indian history, Indian art, Indian music, religions of India, foreign language (Hindi/Kannada), Indian civilization, Indian styles of dance, Hindu mythology, and international business. Students receive 6 credits in the summer and 15 in the fall or spring semesters. | | |
