All full-time employees and eligible dependents qualify for benefits. You will have 60 days from hire to enroll in the State Group Insurance.

Enjoy comprehensive and competitive medical options at low premium cost. Depending or high-deductible or standard plan selections, the monthly costs may vary. There may also be special premium savings for those who may have a spouse that works for another Florida state agency, college or university that is added to the medical plan.
Preventive services at zero cost and prescription services are included with medical enrollment.

Employees have a wide selection for their dental needs. Types of dental plans include Prepaid, Standard PPO, Preventative PPO, Indemnity with PPO and Indemnity options. Broward College's Dental Clinic provides cleaning at a reduced cost for all employees.
Low-cost vision plan available for full-time employees. Broward College’s Vision Care Clinic offers complete eye exams at a reduced cost for all employees.

The state offers $25,000 company paid basic employee life and employee paid options for additional employee optional life (7X salary up to a million maximum), spouse life (up to $20,000) and child life ($10,000). To find out more information click here.
Employees in eligible positions are automatically enrolled in Broward College employee life coverage with a value of 1x salary minus $25,000.
Employees in eligible positions are enrolled in Broward College Long Term Disability plan at no cost. It offers a percentage of income coverage for eligible illness or disability and after meeting a waiting period of 90 days.
Broward College offers employee paid optional Legal Plan provides its members with legal advice and discounted fee representation on all types of legal services.
Broward College offers additional coverage options include Gabor Long Term Care and Gabor Life coverage, and Florida Pre-paid.
Broward College encourages lifelong learning by helping cover the cost of undergraduate or graduate courses. The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) assists with classes taken at Broward College. The Tuition Reimbursement Program (TRP) assists with classes taken at other regionally accredited institutions.
These benefits are a great way to enhance our employee’s career or to pursue a personal academic interest. TAP and TRP are available to benefits-eligible professional, administrative, staff, and faculty members.
The Tuition Assistance Program provides fee waivers to full-time and part-time employees and their eligible dependents.
The Tuition Reimbursement Program provides reimbursement to full time regular employees and is paid at the current in-state tuition rate based on the average of FAU and FIU's tuition rate.
Funding available for travel to seminars, conferences and workshops for full-time regular employees.
As an institution of higher education, the College values lifelong learning and continuous improvement and encourages Professional Technical Staff (PTS) to continue their education. Eligible PTS can receive monetary rewards upon attaining their Associates, Bachelor's or Master's degree.
Broward College offers generous amount of time off along with Winter and Spring Breaks for applicable employees. The College adheres to Federal and State requirements for leave.
Broward offers Paid Parental Leave that runs concurrently with FMLA use of maternity/paternity reasons. That means the first 20 duty days of the maximum 12 weeks are paid for by the college. This leave benefit is available after one year of full-time employment.
Available after one year of full-time employment. Eligible employees may request up to 12 weeks of leave per year. This leave time does come out of the eligible employee's accrued time.
Eligible to join during open enrollment after one year of full-time employment. Donate 2 sick days and then you can apply for up to a maximum of 40 days, after accrued sick and vacation leave is depleted.
An employee may be eligible for seven (7) days Workers Compensation leave when absent from their duties resulting from personal injury or illness received in the performance of duty. This leave is not charged to the employee's accrued sick leave.
Continuing contract faculty and administrators can apply for paid leave for initiation/continuation of degree, formal study, work practicum, research or other professional development activities related to current or future Broward College employment.

Adjunct faculty members contribute to an Alternative Social Security Retirement Plan.
Full-time and part-time FRS eligible employees may choose either the Florida Retirement System (FRS) Pension Plan or the FRS Investment Plan. Employer contribution in accordance to FL Statues after vesting. Faculty, administrators and some exempt professional technical staff may choose the Community College Optional Retirement Program (CCORP) with immediate vesting.
