BCC/FAU Child Development Center is a place for children to learn, play, and grow in a nurturing environment, which is designed to enhance the child's total development. This development includes educational and emotional areas.

We recognize the importance of meeting the needs of children to build self-esteem and to insure positive feelings about themselves.

Our teachers provide a variety of hands-on activities to promote active and constructive learning.

Most activities are introduced through learning centers that give the children the opportunity to experience many areas of interest as:

Language and Storytelling
Dramatic Play
Science and Discovery
Creative Experience
Table Toys
Blocks
Computers

Two Year Olds

The educational program will provide the following: (1) Active participation through play activities, which are relevant, challenging, and designed to promote independent learning. (2) A literature-based framework that encompasses cognitive, social-emotional, communication and language, and sensory-motor development. (3) A literacy-rich environment that expands children's competence and methods of expression and broadens their desire to learn and read.

Preschoolers

This educational program will address "Early Reading" using a challenging, well-researched curriculum. The program integrates social, personal and emotional development; oral language development; early literacy skills and love of literature; physical development and movement; health and safety; other core areas (math, science, social studies); and the fine arts.
