Mission Statement: 

The mission of the P.R.I.D.E program is to provide students with the academic support needed to successfully accomplish their educational goals while at Broward Community College.


Peer Advocate Scholarship Program  Back To Top


Peer Advocates are students that have expressed an interest to act as a liaison between the students and the faculty/staff at Broward Community College-Central campus. Their primary objectives are to assist with success workshops, classroom visitations, high school visits, and tours. They also assist the Broward Community College family with special events. The following criteria must be met to become a peer Advocate.

  • Must have declared a Major Course of Studies
  • Must have at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Must have completed 24 college redit hours
  • Must provide a letter of interest
  • Must provide a letter of recommendation from a BCC faculty/staff member or an outside organization
  • Must not have any financial obligations to the College
  • Must be in good discipline standing
  • Must be articulate
  • Must be able to participate in training programs
  • Must be able to meet the flexible time requirements associated with the position

If you are interested in this program, please complete the scholarship application, and submit the application along with the general PRIDE application. then submit all required documents to the P.R.I.D.E office.

Mentor Program  Back To Top


The mentor program was established to assist students with a support system designed to meet their needs throughout their academic experience at Broward Community College. Students are assigned a Mentor consisting of a BCC faculty or staff member, who is knowledgeable about the college. This relationship will enable the student to learn more about the college as a whole community, and encourage the development of positive communication between the students and staff. If you are interested in the Mentor program, please complete the appropriate forms below, and submit documents to the Office of the P.R.I.D.E program.

If you are a Faculty & Staff member, and would like to mentor a BCC student, please complete the Mentor profile sheet below, and submit information to the Office of the P.R.I.D.E Program.

If you are interested in the Mentor Program, please fill out the appropriate forms as explained below and return them to the P.R.I.D.E. office in bldg 19, Rm 130.

Students are encouraged to participate in these educational workshops conducted by counselors, advisors, faculty, and administrators. Adopt a High School  Back To Top


The Adopt A High School Program provides opportunities for Broward Community College students to give something back to the community by investing part of their time in the Broward County High School system.

Students select a high school within the BCC Central Campus service area and serve as a liaison to the college, helping recruit students by participating in and helping arrange BCC Campus tours, conducting school visitations, mentoring students, and conducting

Open forums during which students are given the opportunity to voice any concerns that they have about the matriculation process at Broward Community College. Participation in such a forum will also encourage students to meet fellow classmates and to get involved with activities at Broward Community College. Peer Mentor Program


Designed to encourage students to be a support system for not only one another, but the community as well. Students are encouraged to develop positive relationships with the high school, middle school, and elementary school students. Students are trained to work in the Broward County Schools through Broward County Personnel. Participants will contribute enormously to the success of younger students by volunteering their time, energy, and knowledge. Classroom Visitations


Faculty members can request for a P.R.I.D.E. representative to facilitate a Student Success Workshop during their class period. Also, a Student Affairs representative is available to share general admissions and registration information as well as answer any questions during these presentations.
