Two Learning Community Faculty at A. Hugh Adams/Central Campus were recently featured in the Community section of the local Sun-Sentinel for their curricular collaboration and positive student response to a highly engaging Learning Community (LC).
Professors Nick Mansito in English and Laura Rambarose in Psychology link their classes so registered students form a common LC cohort around the theme, "The Psychology of Superheroes and Supervillains."
In this integrated learning milieu, English 1101 and Psychology 2012 students put critical thinking to work by reading, analyzing, writing, and presenting their findings on Superhero & Supervillain personality disorders. Investigating such disorders as OCD and Multiple Personalities, these LC students research examples of colorful superheroes & supervillains with such disorders, thus illustrating and better deeper understanding of the associated symptoms and behaviors, along with recommended therapeutic treatments.Click here
