Welcome to Broward College’s Procurement Services Department Website!
The Procurement Services Department is charged with centrally managing the acquisition of goods and services necessary to meet the college’s requirements. All of the staff members of the Procurement Services Department, as well as the staff members of the Material Services Department and the Supplier Diversity Program which are organizationally located within the department, are committed to assuring that there is a mutually beneficial and cooperative relationship between college units and our supplier community.
The Procurement Services Department’s main purpose is to assure that college expenditures relating to the acquisition of goods and services are in compliance with college policy, state requirements and sound business practices while keeping focus on quality goods and services delivered in a timely fashion. We understand that in order to be successful, as in the classic analogy of the three-legged stool, all three legs of the partnership must be strong and committed: college units, the supplier community and the department. For this reason we strive to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship among all our partners, both internal and external.
This is an exciting time for Broward College and for the department. The department is continuously undertaking new programs and initiatives to assure that the college, the department and the community at large remain world-class. For example, we are currently developing a Small Business Program with the goal of increasing the participation of small local firms in the college’s procurement activities.
Also, we are beginning the process of standardizing the college’s institutional furniture requirements to assure that the products the college uses in this area are not only of high quality and value, but are consistent with responsible environmental and sustainable concerns. In short, you can be sure there is always something new happening in the Procurement Services Department.
As a valued partner we welcome and encourage your input and feedback. Feel free to contact any of our staff members with any of your questions or feedback. We look forward to hearing from you!
