Fire Safety Handbook:
This Fire Safety Handbook will help you make better choices in emergency situations at work or at home. Each year college and university students, on and off-campus, experience hundreds of fire-related emergencies nationwide. There are several specific causes for fires on college campuses, including cooking, intentionally-set fires, overloaded power strips, and open flames. Overall, most college-related fires are due to a general lack of knowledge about fire safety and prevention. Are you sure you know what to do in case of fire? Do you know how to use a fire extinguisher? Do you know when not to use an extinguisher? In the handbook below, you’ll learn some basic tips to reduce the likelihood of a fire in your work area, classroom, or home. Topics covered include: Fire Science, Fire Alarm Systems, and Fire Extinguishers.

Safety Escort Service (SET):
Campus Safety provides additional staff during the evening hours to provide escort services to all members of the college community. These student escorts will, when requested, walk with the individual from campus buildings to other campus areas or the parking lots. Our SET team members have radio communication with Campus Safety officers patrolling the campus. When not providing escorts, they provide additional visibility and support to Campus Safety. Although SET members work Monday through Thursday 5:30pm to 10:30pm, our Campus Safety officers are also available at any time to serve as Safety Escorts.
