August and September are the height of the hurricane season. Right now there is no immediate threat to South Florida from a storm, but the remnants of Ana are heading our way. This will not affect the operation of the college, and all classes will be held as scheduled and all facilities at the college will be open.
However, below is our annual update of how Broward College information will be disseminated to the media and internally in the event of a hurricane or other threat.
You will always find the most accurate and up-to-date information on the status of the college by going to our website at www.broward.edu or by calling our hotline numbers:
Faculty and staff hotline: 954-201-6600 Students hotline: 954-201-4900
We now have an additional hotline number for staff and students, should the first two numbers become non-functional or as back-up should call volume make them difficult to reach. This number will also carry the latest information about the status of the college. The new number is:
Faculty, staff and students back-up hotline 954.779.2699
