Academic Planning

“I am unsure of my program of study”

“What are the requirements for my degree type?”

“What schools offer my major?”

Educational Plan button

Developing an academic plan is one of the most important things you can do to ensure success at Broward College and beyond.  For this reason, it is mandatory for all degree seeking students to complete an academic plan during their first term or if they decide to change their program of study.

The academic planning process begins with carefully choosing a program of study. If you are unsure of what program to pursue, you should make an appointment to see an advisor. Your advisor will assist you with career research and self-assessment tools designed to match you with majors based on your strengths and interests and can assist you in researching job descriptions, pay range, job outlook and other key factors in choosing a program of study. Many of these tools can be found online at the Career Services website.

Once you have decided on a program of study, meet with an advisor to complete your academic plan. This process involves taking all of the courses required to graduate under your chosen program and mapping them out, semester by semester, in an order that is both logical and conducive to success.
