Here in our center, our focus is to help students develop and strengthen their writing skills to become effective life-long writers. We’re happy to help at any stage of your writing process, from brainstorming to revision. Tutors can offer advice on thesis development, use of evidence, organization, flow, sentence structure, grammar, and more. Stop by and see us, we will be more than happy to help.

FAQs

How can I schedule an appointment?

Visit our online appointment system, WC online, at https://broward.mywconline.net/

At this site, students can select a specific tutor, day, and time that meets their needs. Students can also choose online tutoring, in addition to face-to-face sessions. It is best to arrive 10 minutes before the tutoring session to make sure it begins on time. All students will need to show their Broward College student ID at the front desk and sign in upon entering the lab.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Along with scheduling an appointment online, students also have the option of walking into the center when in need of help with their writing project or assignment. The center is open Monday-Saturday, but please note the specific hours above.

How can I make the most of my session?

  • Come with an open mind and a realistic expectation. Our primary goal is to help students develop their writing skills. For us to do this, we must help students by addressing writing challenges to support their growth as a writer. We can help students discover approaches to editing through modeling, coaching on difficulties identified and support through problem-solving any aspect of the writing process.
  • Bring your assignment sheet, syllabus, guidelines or any other related documents that you are working on and need help with during the session.
  • For long documents, choose a specific section you’d like to review or come with specific questions (remember, it’s just not realistic to get through a whole long document, but it’s rare that you can’t apply what you’ve learned during the session to the rest of the document on your own).

Come ready to collaborate and talk with your tutor.
