What is ‘Career & Technical Education’?

Career and technical education refers to short-term training designed to prepare you for immediate employment opportunities upon graduation in a specific career. Training is hands-on and utilizes state-of-the-art equipment, software and facilities. In addition to having a majority of instructors who maintain occupations within their field of expertise, technical education programs also feature internship components; these factors help to ensure your training focuses on real-world applications. Through collaboration with industry leaders, career and technical education will provide you with the right mix of skills, training and knowledge to make you highly competitive in the job market.

Broward College's Career and Technical Education department actively works with WorkForce One Broward to advance and support state and regional workforce initiatives such as the Employ Florida Marketplace and Ready to Work.

The EMPLOY FLORIDA MARKETPLACE is our primary online employment resource for students and local employers. Employ Florida links all of Florida’s employment services and is free for students and employers to use. Please visit the Employ Florida Marketplace for more information.
