Degrees


The AS & AAS degrees can be completed in two years and are designed to teach you advanced career skills so you are prepared for immediate employment. Coursework focuses on developing skills and is typically hands-on. General education courses in math/natural science, english, social/behavioral science, and humanities/fine arts are required for graduation.

All AS and AAS degrees awarded at Broward College will transfer into BC's four-year BAS (Bachelors of Applied Science) degree in Supervision & Management.

Associate of Science (AS) Degree: is a career education and transfer degree. It is a 60+ credit hour degree intended to prepare students for immediate employment in a specific occupational area and/or for transfer into the State University System.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree: is a college-level career-technical degree. The AAS is a 60+ college credit hour degree consisting of both general education and technical courses.



Certificates


Certificates are short term career training programs that prepare you for immediate employment or can serve to augment your existing education. Certificates can usually be completed in less than one year and can serve as your first step towards the completion of an AS or AAS degree.

Technical Certificates: provides you with short-term training in a specific area. Credits from a technical certificate will transfer into an affiliated AS or AAS degree.

Advanced Technical Certificates: are intended for people who already have an existing degree and wish to supplement their education.

Post Secondary Adult Vocational (PSAV) Certificate: PSAVs, or vocational certificates, are non-college credit certificates that focus on providing you with specific skills for immediate entry into the workforce.

Applied Technology Diploma: is a course of study that is part of an AS or AAS degree program.
