Benjamin Rosenberg serves as General Counsel for Broward College, where he leads the institution’s legal strategy and advises the Board of Trustees, the President, and senior leadership on legal and policy matters. He oversees all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions, ensuring alignment between institutional priorities and the legal and regulatory environment while advancing the College’s mission to provide high-quality, accessible education across South Florida.
Mr. Rosenberg brings more than a decade of legal experience across higher education, private practice, and complex business transactions. Prior to joining Broward College, he served at the University of Miami, a $3.8 billion research institution, where he led the drafting and negotiation of high-impact agreements spanning technology and data use, sponsored research, and institutional operations. He was a key advisor to academic and administrative leaders, translating legal risk into practical, business-oriented guidance and supporting strategic initiatives across the enterprise.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Rosenberg advised on government-funded contracts and regulatory compliance matters, including federal and state requirements, data privacy, and conflicts of interest. He also practiced at an international law firm and as a network attorney, representing businesses and entrepreneurs in corporate, transactional, and litigation-related matters in regulated and contract-intensive environments.
Mr. Rosenberg is known for his collaborative, solutions-focused approach and for building strong partnerships, improving processes, and aligning legal strategy with institutional performance.
He earned his Juris Doctor from the Florida International University College of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and International Business from Florida International University. His international perspective on law, business and institutional dynamics has been further enhanced with travel in Europe academic study in China and Argentina.
