Caleb J. Cornelius
Vice President of Finance

Caleb J. Cornelius serves as the Vice President of Finance at Broward College. He is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the College financial operations, including overseeing the budget, accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and student financial services.

Cornelius has extensive experience leading diversified teams within publicly traded, private, and higher education organizations. He has served in several roles since joining Broward College in 2012 including, Manager of Credit and Collections, Associate Vice President of Student Business Services, and Senior Associate Vice President of Student Financial Services. Before joining Broward, Cornelius held several leadership positions with a higher education consulting firm, ending as the Director of Client Platforms and IT Services overseeing financial aid, collections, and default management services. Before moving into the higher education space, Cornelius held positions of increasing responsibility in several companies' financial operations in the investment banking and legal services industries.

Caleb first became interested in higher education issues as a college student at a community college. As the first person in his family to pursue a college degree, the processes seemed unnecessarily confusing, but the dedicated staff helped him along the way. That experience led Caleb to the higher education field, and it is what drives him today. Caleb believes that education access and funding can be simplified to improve completion. He had a dream of working in finance, and he is, so now it is time to be part of the solution for the next generation as they reach for their goals.

Cornelius earned an Associates of Science in Business Administration from Hudson Valley Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Information Technology Management at The State University of New York at Albany, a Master of Business Administration at Saint Leo University, and a certificate in Leading with Finance at Harvard Business School Online. Caleb is currently part of the class of 2021 of the SACUBO College Business Management Institute at the University of Kentucky.
