Dr. Marielena DeSanctis
College Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Services

Dr. Marielena DeSanctis serves as the College Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Services. Dr. DeSanctis joined Broward College in April 2014, and she brings almost six years of experience as an engineer and 16 years of experience in K-12 education. Prior to joining Broward College, Dr. DeSanctis served as the Executive Director of Curriculum for Broward County Public Schools, principal of Fort Lauderdale High School, Assistant Principal at South Plantation High School, and six years of experience as a math/physics teacher. She has served as a committee member and leader of several professional organizations including state President of the Florida Association of School Administrators. As an engineer, she worked nationally in the field of water and wastewater.

Dr. DeSanctis earned her Ed.S. and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University; her master’s in Math Education from Nova Southeastern University; and her bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
