R. John Grubb II brings a wealth of experience to the role of General Counsel. Prior to joining Broward College, he served as Acting General Counsel to a family of real estate investment companies with ~$300 million assets under management and advised on all manner of corporate, securities, real estate, employment, and contract matters. He also has litigated multimillion-dollar employment collective actions in federal court, in addition to having served as Senior Tax Counsel/Legislative Liaison for the Tennessee Department of Revenue and as a judicial clerk on the Tennessee Supreme Court.
He obtained his J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School, where he served as a Notes Editor on the Vanderbilt Law Review and authored a note that was published and cited by several amicus briefs before the United States Supreme Court. He also holds an MBA from City University.
Grubb is excited to join Broward College and to work closely with the Board of Trustees, President Alston, the administration, faculty and staff to provide legal leadership and creative solutions to help realize the vision of making Broward College the number one destination for academic excellence.
