Acting Vice President, Advancement and Executive Director Broward College Foundation

A higher education professional with 26 years of diverse philanthropic experience, including planned and major giving as well as advancement operations, Scott Rivinius serves as acting vice president for advancement and executive director of the Broward College Foundation. Prior to this appointment, since January 2018 Scott served as associate vice president for development at Broward College, leading the major gifts program, directing all fundraising campaigns, and managing a team of development and alumni engagement professionals. He takes great pride that the Broward College Foundation has seen its best fundraising totals in its history during these past five years.

Scott started his fundraising career at his alma mater, Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida where he served in progressive roles for 13 years, culminating as director of gift planning and administration and completing an $80 million campaign. He then spent six years in California at the University of the Pacific in a donor relations role and then as assistant vice president for advancement operations and director of Pacific’s $300 million campaign until its public launch.

Having worked with hundreds of donors to establish scholarships, Scott’s personal mission is to enable student success through donor-funded scholarships. Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in economics at Eckerd and his master’s degree in higher and adult continuing education from University of Michigan.
