Property Management Program

South Florida’s Real Estate Industry is Booming!

Opportunities for Property Managers are projected to grow at 12 percent per year, faster than the national average for other occupations.

The Business Pathway now offers a specialization in Property Management through an associate degree as well as industry certification that provides access to opportunities in this high-demand and financially rewarding industry. All students pursuing an Associate of Science in Business complete core courses in Accounting, Business Concepts, Communication, Computer Literacy, Management, and Marketing.

Students specializing in Property Management will, as part of their Business A.S. degree, be provided with more detailed exposure of the industry through the following courses:

  • Introduction to Residential Property REE1500
  • Florida Real Estate Commission I : REE1040
  • Introduction to Customer Service: MNA1161

Program Completion
An A.S. degree with a specialization in Property Management consists of 60 credits, which can be completed in an average of two years (24 months).   Take a moment to review the A.S. in Business, Specialization in Property Management program map, which includes the required courses and suggested course sequence.

Career Path
After completing the specialization, students will graduate with an A.S. in Business with a concentration in Property Management.   If they choose, graduates then sit for the Community Association Manager (CAM) license.  Having this license gives applicants the edge over other candidates applying for jobs in the industry.

With an A.S. degree from Broward College, graduates can either start work immediately or matriculate to a 4-year university to expand their knowledge in the area and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate or Property Management.  Currently, these degrees are offered by Florida International University, Florida State University, University of Central Florida and the University of Florida.

Entry-level positions in Property Management (such as a Facilities Specialist) pay a salary of $30,000 - $40,000, annually. With the right degree, licenses and job experience salaries can grow to over $100,000, annually. Click here to see a typical Property Management Career Ladder.
