How do I qualify?

You must possess a high school diploma or GED.

  1. You must be 18 years of age or older.
  2. You must have a valid driver’s license.
  3. You must meet "drug free" workplace requirements.

Do graduates receive a degree?

Picture of student.Yes, and that’s a major reason you should consider this program. We don't just give out diplomas - we give out degrees. After just two years, you can receive your Associate of Applied Science degree in Marine Engineering Management.

How much does the program cost?

For the 2015-2016 school year, the tuition is $113.50 per credit hour. The total two-year tuition would be approximately $7,491. Fees and books are additional. All students are encouraged to apply for federal financial aid and scholarships. Many students qualify for scholarships, grants or federal loans.

What kind of work experience will I receive while in school?

Picture of students.Every BC Marine Engineering Management Program student is required to serve an internship with a local marine company, where they will receive additional hands-on experience under the supervision of a master technician.



Will I be paid while I intern?

If selected, most employers pay their interns.

Can my internship position turn into a full time job?

Getting a foot in the door at any marine operation is a great way to create an ongoing employment opportunity for yourself if the employer feels you're a good fit.

Will you help find me a job after I receive my degree?

Marine Industries logo.Many marine companies look to our program for well-trained technicians. With your academic and marine training, and the major shortage of trained marine technicians, you can expect to be in high demand. Also, we have partnered with The Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF), who assists our students in finding internships and job opportunities.

Is financial aid available?
​Federal student loans, grants, scholarships, and subsidized or unsubsidized funding is available if you are eligible.​
Where are you located?
We are located on South Campus in Building 98.  Tours begin in building 99 (just to the West).  South Campus is located at 7200 Pines Blvd. Pembroke Pines, FL
Can I cruise the facility?

Is student housing available?

Out of area students in search of a roommate(s) or student housing have several options.

First, there is a company that specializes in assisting students find and/or furnish college housing. The company’s name is CORT. You can use their free online service to find a new apartment, condo or townhouse at Once you have found the perfect place, CORT has special furniture packages and pricing just for students to make it feel like home instantly. Go to for information and pricing on their rental furniture packages.
Second, you can visit the Aviation Institute’s Facebook page at to search for a roommate(s). Many aviation students are from outside the local area and post their interests in finding a roommate(s) on this Facebook page.
