Florida Bright Futures

The Florida Bright Futures is a state scholarship program that establishes three lottery-funded scholarships to reward high school graduates for high academic achievement. The awards are as follows:

  • Florida Academic Scholars
  • Florida Medallion Scholars
  • Gold Seal/Initial Vocational Scholars

If you are a new student at Broward College, please make sure to update your Florida Financial Aid Application with Broward College's school code (062). This will allow your Bright Futures scholarship funds to be awarded.

The initial award is a standard amount for the Fall/Spring/Summer terms.  Awards are adjusted based on your current enrollment for each semester. Bright Futures requires a minimum enrollment of 6 credits per semester.

Please note, Florida Academic Scholars and Florida Medallion are the only funds offered during the summer termRecipients of Academic Scholars will receive an additional $300 for additional educational expenses. The $300 for additional educational expenses is not available in the Summer term.
