Please meet with or call your academic advisor to confirm your eligibility. Please note that the team that plans graduation does not determine eligibility nor has access to your academic records.

An email to eligible graduates will go out on Monday, March 25, 2024, from commencement@broward.edu. If you do not receive this email, there is likely an issue with your graduation requirements and you should book an appointment with your advisor ASAP.

The last day to add graduate names to the Commencement Program Book is Monday, April 22, 2024. If you have not met all of your graduation requirements by this date, you may still be eligible to graduate, but may not appear in the Grad Book.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Hard Rock Live.

Graduates are asked to arrive at 11:00 a.m.

Doors open for guests at 12 p.m. If guests are not seated by 12:50 p.m., they will be asked to wait outside until the faculty processional concludes. Doors will be shut from 12:50 p.m. to 1:10 p.m., so please plan to arrive and be seated before 12:50 p.m.

No. Complimentary covered parking is available 24/7 for all guests in the Lucky Street Garage, Winners Way Garage and Seminole Way Garage, located off State Road 7.

Valet Parking Services is available 24/7 to all guests for a minimal charge.*

Yes, tickets are distributed on a first come, first serve basis. 

Ticket distribution will begin on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, and end on Friday, May 3, 2024. 

If you are not on the eligible grad list you will not be able to pick up tickets and you should make an appointment with your Academic Advisor. 

Each graduate will receive three (3) guest tickets for the graduation ceremony. 

Tickets may be picked up at the Broward College Bookstore.

Two cords are given out by the college; the Graduating with Honors Cord and the Honors College cord. To receive the Honors College cord you must have been enrolled in the Honors College. For questions regarding this specific cord please contact The Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors College.

Graduating with Honors cords are given out at the Bookstore with your Commencement tickets. To qualify for this cord you must have a minimum 3.25 grade point average. The calculation of the grade point average for honors includes the Broward College record and any previous credit transferred to Broward College.

Per college policy 6Hx2-5.31 (PDF), students may only wear regalia approved by the college during the commencement ceremony. Approved items are Academic Honors cords, PTK stoles, Honors College cords, and veteran medals.

Grad Fest is a three-day event put on by the bookstore to allow grads the opportunity to purchase announcements or class rings on-site. The sale of cap and gown and diploma frames takes place for the remainder of the semester. So, even if you miss Grad Fest, you can still purchase these important items.

Each main campus has a bookstore where the cap and gown set can be purchased for $59.98. If you are an online or distance student, you can purchase your items on the Oak Hall Cap and Gown website.

The last day to order online is April 5, 2024, after this date please visit a College bookstore.

A printed diploma will arrive six (6) weeks after graduation. However, eligible grads will receive a digital version of their diploma via email within two (2) days following graduation.

Disability-related accommodations for the ceremony can be requested by emailing adacoordinator@broward.edu. The Commencement facility is ADA-compliant.

No. Broward College hosts two ceremonies a year. Summer grads are invited to participate in the Fall ceremony each December.

Items NOT permitted inside Hard Rock Live include (but are not limited to):

• Bags, backpacks, briefcases larger than 14” x 14” x 6” (will be subject to search)
• Strollers
• Signs, banners, flags
• Outside food
• Glass, cans and aluminum bottles

• Pets (not including service animals with paperwork)

• Camera with an extended lens longer than (6) inches, recording devices, tripods, professional camera auxiliary lenses, selfie sticks

• Illegal substances
• Laser pointers
• Hoverboards and skateboards
• Whistles, horns or other noisemakers
• Firearms, knives, weapons of any kind, pepper spray/mace
• Computers, laptops, iPads
• Drones
• Note: Grills and/or fireworks may NOT be brought into the parking lots. For the safety of all guests, concertgoers may be subject to search.

 

Do I have to walk through a metal detector?

Ensuring the safety of our guests, artists and employees is always a top priority of Hard Rock Live. Be advised that for all events held at Hard Rock Live, venue security will utilize a Walk-Through Metal Detector to scan all guests entering the venue. A secondary measure of bag searches and wanding will be conducted if warranted.
