Charting Our Path: The 2027–2032 Vision

Broward College is embarking on an exciting journey to shape its next five-year strategic plan, which will define our priorities, strengthen student success, and ensure the College continues to thrive in a rapidly evolving educational landscape. This plan will build on our proud legacy while boldly imagining the future we want to create together.

Strategic Planning Timeline

This timeline provides an at‑a‑glance view of the major phases of the College’s strategic planning process and shows where we are at each stage of development. Strategic planning is a thoughtful, multi‑step effort that unfolds over time, moving from vision‑setting and stakeholder input to analysis, drafting, and refinement. Sharing this allows us to remain transparent, helping students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners understand how their voices contribute to the plan, what work is underway, and what steps are next as we shape the College’s future direction.

Phase 1

Planning Framework and Project Initiation

January – February 2026

  • Establish the planning process and key milestones
  • Develop project scope, objectives, and deliverables
Phase 2

Visioning, Data Collection, and Stakeholder Engagement

March – April 2026

  • Visioning Workshop with senior leadership
  • Distribute a college-wide survey to faculty

May – July 2026

  • Distribute a survey to students, staff, alumni, and community stakeholders
  • Facilitate targeted focus groups and community outreach
  • Conduct a comprehensive environmental scan and internal data analysis
Phase 3

Strategic Input, Analysis, and Priority Development

August – September 2026

  • Continue targeted focus groups and community outreach
  • Engage all stakeholders through interviews, surveys, and collegewide Strategic Planning Town Hall
  • Analyze stakeholder input and institutional data
  • Identify emerging themes and institutional priorities
  • Develop SMART goals, tactics, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Assess and revise the Mission, Vision, and Core Values as needed to ensure alignment with future direction
Phase 4

Plan Refinement and Final Approval

October – December 2026

  • Facilitate a Future Envisioning Workshop with senior leadership to draft and refine the Strategic Plan
  • Host a collegewide Strategic Plan Town Hall for stakeholder input on the draft Strategic Plan
  • Present the final Strategic Plan to the District Board of Trustees for approval
Phase 5

Implementation and Continuous Improvement

January 2027 – December 2032

  • Implement the 2027-2032 Strategic Plan across the institution
  • Launch a performance dashboard to monitor progress on KPIs, tactics, and goal achievement
  • Maintain the Strategic Plan website with updates, progress reports, and key milestones
