About the Honors College

The Honors College strives to provide a rigorous, relevant and coherent experience for our students. Every aspect of The Honors College—academic, extra-curricular, and social—is organized around the "Four Pillars of Honors Education": Critical Thinking, Service, Research, and Leadership.

Core Values

History of the College

The Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors College was founded in 1982 and has grown into an incredibly wondrous entity.

The Honors College was named in recognition of the late Fort Lauderdale philanthropist, who supported more than 50 different nonprofit organizations during his lifetime and received the prestigious Lifetime Philanthropic Achievement Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Mr. Elmore's cumulative contributions to Broward College exceeded One Million Dollars and supported academic programs, established scholarships, and established an endowed teaching chair.
