The "IRM's" Scholar Award is named in honor of past Honors College Director Dr. Irmgard Bocchino. The award is merit-based, "stackable" and offers prospective students a waiver for tuition and fees for up to the number of credits required to earn an Honors Associate of Arts degree. This award covers up to 30 credits per academic year (including summer) plus a book stipend.
The IRM's scholarship begins coverage during the Fall Term of each academic year. Applications open on February 1st, 2022, and will close on May 1st, 2022. Following our deadline, students are encouraged to frequently check their emails, as there will be a notification regarding the status of their application. Interviews will take place during the summer term, and students will be notified if they received the scholarship before the beginning of the Fall Term.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
Students must be active members of the Honors College and work towards completion of the Honors Associate of Arts Degree, which consists of the completion of 18 Honors credits (including IDH2121). Students must be enrolled full-time, twelve or more credits, for the Fall and Winter semesters for four consecutive semesters. Students must maintain a 3.5 Overall/Honors GPA and enroll in at least three Honors credits in the Fall semester of each year until completing the Honors Associate of Arts requirements.
Residency and other restrictions may apply. Students must have a completed FAFSA on file with the College before the waiver is applied and the book supplement funds are disbursed.
Prospective students must fill out the IRMs application form. This is a highly competitive award, so be sure to apply early.

Transfer Scholarships
Many local universities offer additional scholarships if you are graduating from Broward College with your associate degree and want to pursue a bachelor's degree, or if you simply wish to transfer schools. However, the Honors College does not offer a transfer scholarship. Rather, we work with students to secure transfer scholarships from four-year institutions.
