Student Life Learning Themes

Student Life is all about holistic development, meaning we look at all aspects of your well-being when we plan our events. Our programs cover these 6 main learning themes:

Leadership, Inclusion, Service, Wellness, Explore, and Engagement

Engage with key resources on campus at our Welcome Week programs and resource fairs. Learn to Lead and Serve through a student organization, our Leadership in 60 series, and service projects. Be part of our rich and Inclusive culture by participating in our heritage month celebrations throughout the year. We will address both your physical and mental wellbeing through our Wellness programs, and help you Explore your future through career and personal discovery.

Inclusion  programs are designed to expose students to diverse cultures, including global and historical perspectives, as well as give students knowledge and exposure to a wide spectrum of diversity and multicultural issues.

Students will explore their own identity and culture (gender, sexual orientation, racial/ethnic background).

Students will be able to exhibit sensitivity and understanding of other perspectives in a respectful manner.

Cultural Events

Leadership programs are designed to connect students with issues of personal, civic, and social responsibilities.  Through participation in these events, students will develop problem-solving and creative-thinking skills and ethical decision-making.

Students will demonstrate the ability to work with people of varying backgrounds (age, ability, race, gender, sexual orientation)

Students will participate in campus and community events that will encourage servant leadership and a culture of change.
