Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society that adds distinction to your honors experience but it is not mandatory that you join. Additionally, you will pay a fee to join this organization. Honor Societies recognize all students who have shown academic excellence during their time at Broward College. Deadlines and qualifications vary among the honor societies.

BRAIN BOWL
Do you like trivia? Have a passion for literature, science, or math? Are you a quick thinker? Brain Bowl is an annual academic competition among teams from participating Florida community colleges. Teams consist of up to five members who compete regionally, state-wide and nationally.

MATH TEAM
Broward College's Math Team has won both team and individual competitions at the state level. The team competes at the annual Florida state Math Olympics, held each year near the beginning of April. Team members may travel to Jacksonville to participate in the event, which is located at the University of North Florida. There are two parts to the event, a team portion and an individual portion. Winners take home trophies and cash prizes and may also receive a BC scholarship.

FORENSICS
Competitive speaking is an important co-curricular activity through which students are offered training and experience in developing their oral communication skills.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS
The BC Model United Nations researches, debates, and engages with problems and ideas that have an international impact. Members travel to UN simulations and work to solve these problems with students from around the world, all while observing the diplomatic idealism of the United Nations. Currently, the Model UN group travels to the University of Florida, Santa Fe College, and Penn State University.

Honors College Colloquium
Every year, Honors students present their research to their peers and to the Broward College faculty at our Honors Colloquium. The event showcases the talent and drive of our students with an emphasis on scholarly research. Current honors college students are able to access Colloquium documents by signing into our D2L page.
Florida Collegiate Honors Council (FCHC)
The Florida Collegiate Honors Council (FCHC) is a professional association of undergraduate honors programs and colleges in Florida. The conference provides an opportunity to network with Honors professionals and Honors students, to share Honors expertise, and to hear student and faculty presentations from across many disciplines.
National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC)
NCHC has nearly 900 member institutions and several hundred individual members, impacting over 330,000 honors students. NCHC provides its members with resources, training opportunities and collaborative events to build and sustain honors programs and their curriculum.
Southern Regional Honors Conference (SRHC)
The Southern Regional Honors Council promotes and advances Honors Programs and Honors Colleges in the Southern United States. The SRHC currently comprises 105 member institutions. The SRHC Annual Conference features opportunities for honors students from across the southeast to present scholarly research. In addition, students, professors, and honors administrators enjoy the collegiality and conversations regarding honors pedagogy and best practices.
The Hall of Fame is where the most inspiring student success stories can be found. These students have found success as members of honors organizations, have won transfer scholarships and have been distinguished within their departments.
Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship
JKC offers the largest scholarships in the country, in-depth academic counseling and other direct services, the Cooke Foundation seeks to help high-performing, low-income students to develop their talents and excel educationally. Broward College ranks 2nd, in the nation, for this prestigious award.
