The following tests are accepted for placement purposes but are not available to be taken at Broward College.

ACT

The ACT is a nationally standardized test given at numerous locations across the country. However, the ACT test is not administered or available to take at Broward College. The information below is intended to help students with questions related to the ACT.

Send Scores to BC

  1. Go to the ACT Sending Your Scores page
  2. Sign in to your ACT account
  3. Follow the applicable steps to send scores to Broward College, Davie, FL (0768) using the search function.

    (Do not enter the mailing address manually)

  4. Pay the applicable fee to ACT.

Send Scores to Another Institution
Follow the same steps above to send ACT scores to another institution.

Placement Purposes
Official ACT scores must be sent to Broward College from ACT.

  1. With your BC Coach, Admissions Rep, etc. in-person or via Zoom, sign in to your MyACT Account.
  2. Find your unofficial score report and print it as a PDF. (Instructions on how to print to PDF from Adobe)
  3. Make sure that you have requested an official score report to be sent to Broward College, Davie, FL (0768). If you haven't done so at this point, please do so and then move on to step 4.

    (Do not enter the mailing address manually)

  4. Send the PDF copy via email to your BC Coach, Admissions Rep, etc.
  5. Your BC Coach, Admissions Rep, etc. will submit the score report to the Testing and Assessment Center for processing and entry into the student information system.

    If you are a Dual Enrollment student, this must be handled by the BC Dual Enrollment office.

ALEKS PPL

ALEKS PPL (Placement, Preparation, and Learning) exam is delivered at some universities and college. Per state rule 6A-10.0315, the ALEKS PPL is eligible for use in demonstrating placement in mathematics. ALEKS PPL is not administered or available to take at Broward College. The information below is intended to help students with questions related to ALEKS PPL. 

Alternative Method of Placement - Tests and Assessments

  • ALEKS PPL proctored version
    • Valid for placement into math only

  • ALEKS PPL unproctored version

  • Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS) Placement, Preparation, and Learning (PPL)
  • Broward College only accepts ALEKS PPL test administrations that have been proctored. Unproctored test administrations will not be accepted for placement.

Send Scores to BC

Broward College Testing and Assessment Centers do not administer the ALEKS PPL exam.

  1. Log into your ALEKS PPL account
  2. On your My Classes page, find the tile for the cohort with the Placement Assessment results you would like to share.
  3. Open the menu in the top, right corner of that tile and select Send Results.

    If the Send Results option is not available, your school does not allow students to share their Placement Assessment results with other schools.

  4. After selecting Send Results, a list of schools appears in alphabetical order (only 50 display at a time). To view more schools, scroll to the bottom and select Show More. You can also use the search box to search for Broward College.
  5. Select the Broward College DB0D814 and select Continue.
  6. On the confirmation pop-up, check the box to acknowledge that you are sending your personally identifiable information to the new school and select Send.
  7. You will receive an email confirmation when your Placement Assessment results have successfully been sent to the school.
  8. Allow a minimum of 5 business days between the time of your request and the time the scores will be reviewed and entered into the College's student information system.

Cambridge English C1 Advanced

  2. Visit the Cambridge English Support Site for information on sending results to an organization or institution.

EOC (End-of-Course) assessments are delivered in Florida public high schools. Per state rule 6A-10.0315, the Algebra 1 and Geometry EOCs are eligible for use in demonstrating placement. Florida EOC assessments are not administered or available to take at Broward College. The information below is intended to help students with questions related to EOC assessments.

  1. Scores must be presented on the official high school transcript from a Florida public school
  2. Visit the Registrar's Office webpage to learn how to officially send high school transcripts 

Send Scores to Another Institution

  1. Follow the same steps above to request to send scores to another institution. Be sure to check with the other institution for additional details.   

Placement Purposes
Official scores must be sent to Broward College using information above.

  1. Once your Florida public high school transcripts have been received officially:
  2. Work with your BC Coach, Admissions Rep, etc. in-person or via Zoom to verify you have taken the correct Florida standardized exam and it is still valid.
  3. Your coach, admissions rep, etc. will send a copy of the scores to the Testing and Assessment department for entry into the student information system. 
  4. Work with your coach, admissions rep, etc. on registration for the appropriate course and level.

CLT (Classic Learning Test)

The Classic Learning Test is a standardized test and is available in various locations across the country. However, the CLT is not administered or available to take at Broward College. The information below is intended to help students with questions related to the CLT.

  3. Find the score you wish to share in Past Performance.
  4. Click the "Share" button under that score.
  5. In the section for Partner Colleges and Universities, select Broward College from the dropdown menu.
  6. You may then check to see if the score was sent by visiting the "Shared Scores" menu on the left side of the student dashboard.

Send Scores to Another Institution

  1. Follow the same steps above to request to send scores to another institution. 
  2. You will need to contact the other institution to find their address or email address if they are not listed on the Partner Colleges and Universities list.

GED

The GED is a General Education Diploma product produced by GED Testing Service. It is one of several general education diplomas available in the United States for individuals that did not finish high school to obtain a high school equivalency diploma. 

The GED is available to take at the Central Campus of Broward College through our Pearson VUE testing center. Appointments are made through the GED Testing Services website. Scheduling is not done by the college or the Testing and Assessment Center.

Send your official GED transcript to the Registrar's Office. The address can be found in the "Send Transcripts to BC" dropdown on the Registrar's webpage.

To view your unofficial GED scores, log into your MyGED Account and open the My Scores tab.

It is one of several general education diplomas available in the United States for individuals that did not finish high school to obtain a high school equivalency diploma.   4. Testing and Assessment staff will use the information on your scores to verify them with the iTEP online Results Verification Portal.

MET

The MET(Michigan English Test) is an internationally recognized English proficiency exam. MET is not administered or available to take at Broward College. The information below is intended to help students with questions related to the MET.

  3. Upon receipt of the digital score report, indicated you want to send scores to Broward College.
  4. Upon receipt of the scores, Testing and Assessment will confer with International Student Services (ISSO) verify the student is in the BC student information system. Upon confirmation from ISSO, Testing and Assessment will enter scores into the BC student information system.

  2. Students will find information on sending scores to Broward College on the following pages based on the version of the TOEFL taken.
    • TOEFL iBT and Essentials go to your ETS Account to send scores.
    • TOEFL ITP results must be sent from the institution who administered the exam. TOEFL and ETS do not have score records for this exam. 
  3. Upon receipt of the scores, Testing and Assessment will confer with International Student Services (ISSO) verify the student is in the BC student information system. Upon confirmation from ISSO, Testing and Assessment will enter scores into the BC student information system.
