The ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) WPT (Writing Proficiency Test) are standardized tests for the global assessment of functional writing ability in a foreign language. ACTFL WPT is delivered through LTI (Language Testing International). Broward College accepts the ACTFL WPT as a method for satisfying the College's Foreign Language Competency Requirement. The College does not award college credit for passing an ACTFL exam.
Other formats of the ACTFL are not accepted.
Each WPT exam is timed to a maximum of 80 minutes, which includes 10 minutes to read and review the directions.
The ACTFL WPT is available a Broward College Testing Center.
This process takes a minimum of 14 days!
Some of the ACTFL WPT exams are online and some are in booklet form.
Yes. ACTFL retesting period is 90 days.
Test results are provided within 2-4 weeks of the test administration date. Once the scoring of your test is completed, you will receive an email notification that your results are available through your account on the individual site. Through his site you will be able to view the test results and print your certificate.
Intermediate Low or higher
No. Non-BC students can take the ACTFL exam at Broward College. Simply follow the registration instructions above. Provide proctor information of the BC campus where you wish to take the exam when prompted. Also provide information for where test results should be sent to your current college/university.
