For Broward College (BC) students requesting to take a placement test virtually.
Broward College (BC) has a Remote Testing process in place for allowing students to take a placement test on a remote testing basis. Broward College Testing uses the term "Remote Testing" to describe tests that are authorized by BC to be administered by an approved non-BC proctor on a remote virtually basis. The criteria below explains the BC remote testing request process and fees.
Remote Placement Testing will be considered for the following reasons:
- Students who live outside of the South Florida Tri-County area (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties), Students living outside of Florida, or Students living outside of the United States.
- Students who live within the South Florida Tri-County area who are requesting a technology supported online proctoring service due to a conflict with BC test center hours of operation, are homebound or prefer social distancing.
The following tests are eligible to be taken through BC's Remote Testing process:
- Common Placement Test (PERT/CPT)
- LOEP (ACCUPLACER ESL)
- Higher Level Math Test (HLM)
Notes:
- Placement requests outside of the United States utilize remote virtual proctoring through Examity.
- Remote placement testing is only available to current or prospective BC students.

Remote Virtual Placement Testing Policies:
- Students must have a BC Student ID number prior to requesting remote testing.
- All requests must be approved by a testing center staff member.
- Allow for at least 10 business days for processing of this request.
- Testing will occur online using an online proctoring service such as Honorlock or Examity.
- Students are responsible for all proctoring fees as well as any BC testing fees, which include virtual proctoring fees.
- All students are required to present valid identification before the test session begins to the virtual proctor.
- All students are required to adhere to the BC Testing Guidelinesand Prohibited Items policies while testing virtually.
- Remote Virtualproctoring service is typically utilized for BC students living outside the South Florida area, do not have a physical approved testing center in their area, have a documented need, or have a conflict with BC test centers hours of operation. It is also used during unusual times of natural disasters, outbreaks, etc. to aid students in continuing their educational pursuits. Requests are reviewed and granted on a case-by-case basis. Remote Virtual proctoring also requires secure internet connectivity and bandwidth to properly function. Certain areas in the world do not offer this level of internet connection. Any fees incurred due to internet issues are non-refundable.
